Girls who surf - Britt
Where do you usually surf?
Torquay – Faves: Boobs, Dranios, Haystacks
How did you get into surfing?
In COVID winter, when I joined a small coaching group.
Why did you start surfing?
I always wanted to, but I just thought I’d never be good enough. I had time on my hands and just started. I was in a rut and going through a personally challenging time, and I needed something to shake me up.
What was your biggest fear when you started?
Being so intimidated & being embarrassed.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to other surfer girls?
Start with a coach for the foundations & a safe space to learn. Surf as much as you can, in every type of condition. There are a LOT of women surfing, you’d be surprised!
Tell us a funny, embarrassing, or inspiring surf story!
The year I turned 40, I caught the best wave of my life at Nusa Dua reef, and it was 5 foot. Best day of my life haha.
